Civic Service – Flower Beds

The Avon Club Civic Service maintains two flower beds along Ohio River and two flower urns in front of the Ben Avon Borough Hall. In the years when we host the Holiday House tour, the committee decorates the street poles along the tour route and provides greenery to the House Tour homeowners.

May is our busiest month to prepare the flower beds for the summer season — weed, clear trash, prune existing plants, add new plants and lay over 60 cubic feet of mulch. The Committee wishes to thank the volunteers who contributed to our May activities to make our community beautiful!

2024 Scholarships

The Avon Club Foundation awards two scholarships to exemplary female senior students residing within the Avonworth School District. You can be a student of Avonworth High School, Private Schools or are a Home School student.

Selection criteria include essay response related to your extra-curricular activities and how the past two years have impacted your life and education. First round selected applicants are invited for an interview with the Avon Club Scholarship Committee to evaluate personal presentation and enthusiasm for educational and professional goals.

The 2025 Scholarship Program will open in December 2024. Look for details then!

2024 Grants

The Avon Club Foundation provides financial grants to non-profit, charitable organizations within our community who align with our Social Responsibility goals to help those whose needs are greater than our own.

The Foundation makes distributions to those organizations serving our community, as well as other worthy, tax-exempt organizations providing services which otherwise might be unavailable or requiring additional support from local or federal government programs. The Avon Club Foundation serves the Community defined as the area and people living within the Avonworth School District. In selecting grant recipients, we consider the organizations alignment with the goals of the Avon Club Foundation regarding Education, Recreation, Preservation and the Environment, and Social Responsibility.

Grant applications for 2024 have been closed and are in review with an announcement of Grant recipients to be announced in May. The 2025 Grant Application will be posted in December 2024. Look for more information at that time.
